Ask any business owner and they will tell you that one of their number one challenges is continually generating good quality leads. Well you’re not alone, according to HubSpot, 65% of businesses say generating traffic and leads is their biggest marketing challenge.
In this article, I’m going to share with you 5 easy to implement ways to start generating some good quality leads:
- Start a Blog
If you haven’t got a blog already, start one. There are so many good reasons why a blog will be great for your audience and to keep you top of mind amongst your audience. Still not convinced?
- Websites with a blog tend to have 434% more indexed pages, which is a key ranking factor for search engines like Google
- It drives website traffic because people are using longer tail keywords phrases in Google which are often blogs
- Helps convert traffic into leads
- Establishes you as an authority
- Gives you content to share on social media and via email
- Helps demonstrate trustworthiness
- Allows you to test new ideas
- …and…you will learn!
A lead magnet is an irresistible bribe that offers VALUE in exchange for a prospects contact information.
It might be an eBook, access to a range of online tools, a checklist, results of a survey etc. The content of your lead magnet should be high value and it should look at one particular topic in depth. You want to entice people to part with their contact details so it needs to have its own landing page highlighting the benefits and be relevant to a specific niche of your target audience.
3. Guest Blog
Guest blogging has changed so much over the years; it’s now much harder to get your blog published on a third party site, but the benefits of guest blogging still remain relevant today:
- You’ll have your content (and brand name) in front of a highly relevant audience that share the same audience synergies as your own.
- Benefit from a high quality back link (assuming the site you choose has a high Domain Authority)
- Get more traffic coming to your site as a result of the article
Make sure the article you choose to submit to the third party publication is unique, of high quality and covers an angle that is relevant to their audience. Build relationships first with the editor by commenting on existing posts and sharing their content on social media before you approach them to have your content published.
4. Webinar Collaborations
Hosting a webinar exposes you to a new list of qualified leads and by collaborating with a webinar co-host, you also gain access to their audience too. Have a time-specific Call-to-Action at the end of the webinar, in order to encourage people to stay in contact with you and receive further relevant content from you in the future.
5. Case Studies
Case studies are a great piece of Evergreen content to have on your website. They help those who are interested in your product or service become customers because they see how others have benefitted.
Aren’t we more likely to pay attention to a review of a hotel on TripAdvisor than we are to what the hotel has to say?
A great case study should tell an interesting story, with data, pictures, call-out quotes and a clear summary of the problem, the resolution, and finally the happy ending.
Talking of endings… that wraps up my 5 tips on generating qualified leads for your business. It’s not as hard as it looks really, but as with all these things, it comes down to being consistent with regular blogging, outreach, client contact program (so you can get case studies from them) and then rinse and repeat.
